I was blessed enough to predominantly live alone on a mountain between 1999 and 2009, staying out of the way of the human world as much as possible due to being torn between spiritual bliss and earthly misery. I was able to hone my skills on guitar and drums, as well as refine my song writing and singing skills. I also dabbled in any strange and ridiculous audio experiments I could think of based on the options I had available. For example, the beginnings of my soundscape creations came from using delay guitar effects pedals and double tracked cassette tapes to create 90 minute mega pieces that sounded like some kind of strange weather systems from another universe. Admittedly not everyone was ready for that! 😂 So far my present day soundscapes are a little more grounded and less madness inducing! I remember sometimes thinking I was ahead of my time, and here 20 years on, I'm hosting solo events doing very similar in amongst other places, ancient repurposed churches!

Eventually I crafted myself a fairly unique musical style, inspired by small slices of many genres, including folk, alt rock, psychedelic rock, modular synth dance music and I suppose what you could call alt pop, AKA the often allusive genre of ‘good’ pop! I even created a kind of grungy alternative thrash metal that pushed concepts of ascension and grand union, Love, political commentary and protest. I tried the being in a band idea several times in the past, but found that finding a whole band with similar ideals, musical ability, drive, self belief, and availability, to be largely impossible. That being said, it didn't stop drumming and making music from allowing me the expression I needed to transmute the morbid depression I had about the world from my teens well into adulthood. Not that its totally gone by this point in my life, but I certainly feel a lot more collected to say the least! I'm also finding new/ancient ways to let go of the residue of many old tethers that don't serve. NowTime always being the gateway.

Along with my direct connection with nature and deep desire to discover answers to the deeper questions of life, (sound and frequency now scientifically shown to play a huge part) sound and music opened a portal for me to a multiverse of reasons worth living for. Not only that, but it revealed to me many structures and fundamental principles that guide our lives. In so many ways life Is Music. It was also a huge catalyst in building mental infrastructures that enabled my psyche to even hold and understand such ideas. e.g. Communication and Psychology. Knowledge of music and musicianship have been proven to aid in heightened brain activity and manifesting more complex neural pathways. Though I was very emotionally intelligent as a child, I wasn't the brightest intellectually. Of course there was also the shamanic journeyings that were also a big part of that. (I imagine see my future blogs for more on that subject) 

The more I channelled my emotions into creativity, the more positive and refined my mindset became. Though for along time having a positive mind set in the face of a tortured World kind of made things worse. I later in life discovered that I could be labelled as an empath that had little to no self protection/boundaries. I could feel the pain of the whole world, including nature and the Earth itself. Thankfully eventually I learned to separate my personal reality and the reality of the World. For along time, (like many) I'd thought it was obvious that they were the same thing. Later I realised that being happy with myself and being happy with the world aren't the same thing at all! I discovered that we're not ‘the all singing, all dancing crap of the world’, like the ‘fight club’ movies suggests. Well at least not when we can help it! 
 

By this present stage in my life I am honoured and deeply grateful that I'm able to share any of what I've learned with others. It was a very lonely time beginning to ‘wake up’ in the year 2000 and over the following decade or so before I hit a kind of energy conservation threshold. These days its become more obvious that I and others were forerunners of things to come. Set in part with the task of being part of a kind of ground crew that would feel, hopefully survive, and transmute the traumas of a world in understandable denial, as best we could so that more people in the future could do the same but a lot more easily. A kind of energetic foundation for a higher octave of the 1960s is a concept that's batted around. Considering how awful my life was in many ways back then, the fact that it turned out I and others were laying foundations for upgraded quantum Earth grid geometries (sound architecture) to aid in the present rise in conscious awareness happening on the planet right now, (I had a hunch) is hugely comforting.                                     (See The Book ‘The Celestine prophecy’) 

Connecting with sound on a deep level opened doors on many levels to me understanding my relationship to creation and my and others place in it. Sound can enable us to tap into profound states of realisation. self transformation and awakening. By doing this we can become conduits to enable the birth of a fully harmonious world. My recordings, soundscapes, psychedelic drum journeys or planned dance events, are all designed to aid in facilitating voyages of discovery into our innate knowing, dialling in that cosmic capacity for balance, and giving rise to the awareness of our alienable right to sovereign divinity. 

It is very important to note that what I speak of is a path and way of being. It is not like many understandably often assume because of the system we grew up in, an over night cure all that's taken like a course of pills and then forgotten about. It involves a strong will to find your true self and change everything if necessary to access it. That doesn't mean following a crowd. It means finding yourself and then the right crowd finds you. There's huge amounts of options to aid us on our spiritual evolution that wern't nearly as available 20yrs ago and beyond. And some that wern't available at all. Though these days you have to find what you most resonate with amongst a larger choice of possibilities that can make things difficult, its often not as hard as it used to be. The world has changed and many people have already done a lot of ground work that can aid new comers in speeding things up. But still very important to remember is that others at best can only guide you. It is always Now and Forever, YOU that are the destination.
